VCU Medical Center ranked 2nd in Virginia in Newsweek magazine’s 2022 list of “World’s Best Hospitals.” This marks the second year in a row in which VCU Medical Center secured a spot among Newsweek’s top 100 hospitals in the United States.
The academic medical center ranked above the national average in infectious disease care, patient satisfaction and likelihood to recommend by doctors and patients. These scores contributed to VCU Medical Center’s rise in this year’s national ranking, which improved by 11 spots compared to last year, making the hospital the 72nd best hospital in the country.
“Any national recognition is a testament to the great work our team members do every day,” said Michael Roussos, president of VCU Medical Center “They continue to succeed in challenging circumstances.”
Newsweek reviewed over 2,200 hospitals in 27 countries. To determine the best hospitals, Newsweek reviewed peer recommendations, patient experience and medical key performance indicators, including patient safety and quality of treatment.
